Tips on PH~by IT WORKS

A healthy pH reading/Tips on going more Alkaline

A healthy pH reading on a spit test is 7.4 (blue), a pH reading of anything below 7 means that your body tends towards being more acidic. High acid levels in the body (saliva, digestion, blood) can lead to inflammatory conditions, high free radical levels and other degenerative diseases. It is therefore important to observe your diet and lifestyle habits to ensure that you are able to maintain a healthy pH level and better health and vitality. The Western diet is typically acidic (fast foods, high fats, sugar, preservatives etc) and this may be an underlying reason we see a higher level of cardiovascular diseases, arthritis, osteoporosis, kidney stones, gall stones and cancer. A change in pH level may require improving health and lifestyle habits in the long term (3+ months), even though a spit pH test may change on a weekly basis. It is also possible to test your urine for its pH level, both are important ways to assess the bodies general health status. Urine tells us our history (metabolic) and saliva our most recent choices (reactive).

Some diet tips to reduce acidity:

• Reduce acid forming foods such as tea, coffee, alcohol, soft drinks, dairy, wheat, sugar, preserved, processed, refined and tinned foods• Increase alkalising foods such as plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, water, lemon juice, vegetable juices, green barley powder, grains, nuts, seeds and green leafy vegetables• Eat more foods which contain naturally occuring digestive enzymes such as pineapple, papaya, beetroots, green leafy vegetables or lemon juice• Make a warm lemon and Manuka honey drink as these will not only improve digestion but Manuka honey contains anti-bacterial properties to improve mouth hygiene• Drink herbal teas to help increase water consumption and to also improve digestion and reduce acid. Some tasty teas are Peppermint, Chamomile, Ginger, Burdock, Dandelion and Lemon

Lifestyle tips to improve pH levels”

• Clear excessive wastes from the kidneys by ensuring that you are properly hydrated by drinking at least 2 litres of water/ day• Support liver health by avoiding alcohol, smoking, preservatives, additives, processed and refined foods and consider a detoxification regime

Natural remedies to improve pH levels:

Spirulina, Wheat Grass and Chlorophyll nourishes and tones the kidneys and increases the amounts of waste removed via filtration, it is also a blood cleanser and alkaliser

Herbs to improve the functioning of the kidneys are Borage, Chapparal, Cornsilk, Dandelion leaf, Goji Berry, Alisma, Poria, Ginkgo biloba, Green Tea, Lemon Grass (tea), Milk Thistle, Rehmannia, Parsley, Celery, Juniper, Roship (tea), Sarsaparilla, Bearberry and Golden Seal

Consider supplementation with alkaline minerals such as Magnesium, Calcium, Sodium and Potassium

You feel better taking greens because the amount of alkalizational herbs in the It works Greens are astounding. Keep Alkalizing while wrapping it will give you much more success..

Thanksgiving for me entails having the Opportunity to learn about Herbal Medicine and having met It works – A Company who implements them so Geniusly !!!!!!!

Note: To add to this I would like to say that when we were born our bodies were more alkaline, but as we grew up and started drinking soda’s and eating junk food our bodies became more acidic to so it is important to achieve optimum health with a good PH level

Relive to Live

I wanted to name it this thanks to my husband who mentioned it to me. In this video I want to teach you how to exercise effectively with out over doing it. To music that we grew up with back in the 80’s and 90’s therefore the name “Relive to Live”. First is the Warm up exercise and will take you through a series of leg  movements. (I’m a little loud, but I was used to directing classes and wanted to make sure you could hear me clearly)This is geared toward beginners. It doesn’t matter how old you are or over weight like me, there I said it, I want to get back to where I was before and I can’t get there unless I make an “E” for effort. So long as you are healthy and your doctor says that you are cleared to do so, you can join me as we get fit together.

Warm up

I put in the arm movements in the warm up and then we get into the main part of this video. The second video is 20 minutes long and my you tube does not allow me to have videos longer then 15 minutes so I will refer you to my drop box for this one. We want to raise the heart rate for at least 10 minutes, approx 3-4 songs 15 minutes max which would be 4-5 songs. As we progress you can then use the first song primarily for warm-up and get into the cardio sooner which then would be 6 songs. I will do an intermediate video in about 4-6 weeks as my fitness level increases.

Cardio

Lastly is the warm down and stretches. I missed on one of my songs thinking it was the cool down but that is okay it gave me a chance to demonstrate the basics of each work out. It is so much easier to show people then to describe it in words by pictures. I hope that you found this informative. My first week is complete and will be adding videos for endurance exercises in different ways next week.

Buster and His girls

In this day it is more economical to raise your own brood if you have a piece of land to do it.  We got a bunch of babies and lost 1/2 to a predator. We were able to save 13 birds and quite a few were roosters. We have a flock now of 6 hens and 1 rooster. So much more quieter now with out the other roosters chasing each other for dominance and pestering the hens. They are now 4 mths old and we are now ready to transfer them real soon to the new area for the winter. Putting the nesting boxes inside the tractor shed. This will give them so much more room and I will be happier when we get this built.

We built a chicken tractor out of some scrap 2×4’s that the neighbor gave us. Purely for their protection. I want to free range them but with all the predators I felt this was the safest and I would know where they were at all times. I put a piece of 2×4 under one end to keep it level and this also stops them from getting out. Here are some other examples I will put up the pictures in related content.

I used to raise meat birds and leghorns years ago. Right now I have Barred Rocks(but I think they are also mixed because I got these chicks from someone who hatches for a hobby) He only charged me 2.00 per chick. Most of the sites to order chicks are now

done for the winter. The earliest that you can get any more would be January and you can order them to be sent to your post office. You will have to go and pick them up as soon as they call you. They will be hungry so your also will want to have your brooding lamp going water and food in place for when you release them.

We used a box, took the sides down and then put them back together with duct tape and placed a old shower curtain on the floor for the bottom. The temperature for the babies needs to be about 85 degrees. you can keep track of this with a thermometer. The other indication is how the chicks act.. if they are separated and walking around all over when they are awake then the temperature is right. If they are all huddled in a corner under the lamp then they could be a little on the cool side. Naturally they will all huddle together when they go to sleep. To keep the warmth in I also put a towel over part of my boxed area away from the lamp of course just to keep some heat inside.

After a week you can raise the lamp. You can decrease the temperature 5 degrees each week. I had to put mine out into the pen when they got to about 3-4 weeks old cause they were trying to fly up and perch on the edge of the box 😀 If you have ordered any kind of meat bird they will be ready to butcher at 6 weeks. You can leave them longer as I did one time to 10 weeks and they were the size of small turkey’s. Keep your meat birds in a confined area so that they are not flying and mucking about too much and they will get big and fat. If you keep them eating,

I was told that mine would be meat birds but when butchering the roosters I found they were mostly feathers. They will be good in the stew pot since there is only the 2 of us. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Sprouts

Sprouts are very nutritious for you and I put them in everything especially sandwiches or wraps. For those of you who are uncertain about how to do this I will show you with complete instructions so it is simple and easy for you to understand. Lets start out with the Jar. Any mason Jar will work. Mine is wide mouth and it has a plastic lid with a screen in it. as shown in the picture.

I’m going to do alfalfa sprouts: 2 tablespoons in the jar with water fill half way up let sit for 12 hours. drain some water and add fresh leave over night. Day 1 complete.

2 tablespoons alfalfa seed

Day 2

Day 2

Next morning drain and rinse the seeds by adding water through the screen you do not have to remove the lid. Draining, you can now place it upside down in a dish drainer, repeat a few times during the day. Day 2 complete.

Day 3 with water

Day 3 with water

Day 3

Day 3

Same for day 3 and you will notice that they are starting to come out of the shell. Rinsing and draining Day 3 complete.

Day 4

Day 4

Rinsing and draining for day 4 and it is getting to be a bunch in there now (I’m on day 4) They are just now by the time of this posting getting a little bit of green on the sprouts. So after rinsing and draining them 2 times, I will then put them in a window to give them more light and sun(if it comes out). Day 4 complete.

For at least one more day or two. Continue to rinse and drain and when done draining place back in lighted window. Day 5 complete. On the 6th day you might want to give them a final rinse or two.

So you can see by the picture there are quite a few and by the time you take them out there will be a full jar. Not bad for 2 tablespoons of seed.

Pull them out of the jar and place your sprouts on  a moist paper towel in the bottom of a sealed container and then place in the fridge. They should last several days this way. Then you can start on a new batch. 😀 ~ Enjoy I hope you found this helpful!

How to Grow Wheat Grass

Wheat grass can be grown in a little bit of dirt or in water.. some people have used those vegetable trays that have the slots in the bottom of the trays with water in the very bottom and grow their seed right on the kitchen counter.. this guy shows you how to do it with seed trays and a layer of soil.
